In 2010 the much-loved former St James Street Library was on the brink of being closed. The local community joined together and created The Mill. Since then it has been used by the public constantly as a vibrant and bustling independent community space run for, and by, the people of Walthamstow. To raise valuable funding for our charity, we rent out our unique and affordable spaces with the income generated reinvested back into The Mill.
The Mill offers a range of spaces, perfect for meetings, workshops, launches, small conferences, consultations, classes, clubs, parties or events for grown-ups and children alike for between 1- 120 people. We’re always open to new ideas on how the different spaces can be used!
The Mill is a thriving creative hub and everyone regardless of age, ability and background are encouraged and challenged to be creative, get involved and get together. We provide regular opportunities for people to showcase their talent through our exhibitions and workshops. The Mill is fully accessible, providing wheelchair accessible (including disabled parking bay) and nappy change facilities. Centrally located in E17 next to St James Street train line and bus routes, opposite public parking.
